State Business Incentives Database Debuts New User Site

|

The Council for Community and Economic Research has launched the newest iteration of the State Business Incentives Database website. New features make finding up-to-date information on state incentive programs even easier for economic developers, business development finance professionals, economic researchers, and other users.

Users will now be able to utilize the improved search functions to find new information about programs in the Database. New data fields include:

  • Legal citations
  • Industry targets
  • Sunset years
  • Administration type (discretionary/statutory)

For example, a search by industry target for Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, and Hunting results in a list of ninety-four programs across twenty-eight states and four territories.

C2ER is also in the process of adding more financial data about programs. New data fields include tax type and amount expended in most recent fiscal year. This data is currently available for a select number of tax incentives in various states and will be completed for all programs (where available) in future updates.

The State Business Incentives Database website now also features a media page with links to reports, news articles, and blog posts relating to the Database. Future updates to the Database will include a side-by-side state comparison tool, as well as tools for graphical analysis of program data.
